The Postal service has retreated from closing the White River Jct processing plant. The service has also opted to reduce hours at rural post offices instead of closing them. We have a lot of people to thank for this.
The Service's consolidation (closure) plan progresses with other plants.
I am not shutting down this blog but I am scaling back as news that affects this area is slowing down. If it picks up, I'll increase as well. Thank you for your attendance thus far!

White River is staying open!
Last night employees at the White River Junction Mail Processing Center were given a stand up talk where the Postal services new plans for reduction were announced. The Plant in White River is staying open. The employees will remain in their jobs and most importantly for the community and customers, your service will not be reduced as the delivery standard remains in place.
Announcements have also been made concerning reducing hours in the window hours of Post Offices throughout the country. The list is here
